Headshot Photography Atlanta

Branding photography can come in many forms but I think of it as environmental portraiture which is essentially editorial photography. It’s about showing the individual or individuals in the context of an environment as it relates to who they are and what they do. That usually means the workplace and finding a setting there. If it happens in someone’s home, I think of it more as lifestyle photography but even so, it’s still environmental portraiture. This assignment had lots of possibilities as the headquarters had different stations that amounted to “sets” in which to shoot the various subjects. There were very few windows in the building so adding light but trying to avoid making the images look “lit” is what I strive for.

I'm using these samples here with my own treatment. The original brief was to match existing headshots which were not to their liking. "Headshots" is a loose term for corporate portraits as these are "table shots" and "hands in" as I like to say. It's the little things but I love shooting hands in. Often, in studio, when someone can't relax, I seat them just like this and shoot them at a table. It works really well. I suppose it's not a "headshot" strictly speaking, but you can use it as such.

Corporate Headshots shot over a period of months as different events bring a national salesforce to the home office in Atlanta. Consistency, attention to detail, and subtle styling elevate these headshots to something more than just a couple of umbrellas and 5 takes each. Care and time is given to each individual as the process builds confidence and repeated takes create and warm and confident headshot.

Clients often come to me for a variety of reasons. They want shots for social media for various purposes. Business, personal, dating sites or all the above. It can be fun to wander around Midtown, Piedmont Park, and Buckhead looking for set ups given a particular season and time of day.
